The Gladiator not only has removable body panels and a natural ability to play in the dirt and mud, but it can pull two tons more and has a carpet that adds another dimension to its skillset. Sure, the Wrangler is strong on the tracks, but Gladiator’s long wheelbase makes it even better. Compared to independent rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier, the Jeep is slightly above the speed limit, requiring standard steering inputs to keep it steady. However, the 2022 Jeep Gladiator diesel engine has more torque (442 pounds compared to 369) and a higher combined EPA rating (24 mpg versus 22) than the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon.

Inside, Gladiator has a straightforward dashboard that mimics Wrangler and supports easy-to-use controls. Durable details include the start of a waterproof push button, and there are simple options such as a hot steering wheel and heated front seats. Jeep claims that the truck’s stretch wheelbase improves the rear seat space compared to the four-door Wrangler. Gladiator has body panels and a roof that can be easily removed to create an open cabinet. The Gladiator is packed with smart interior storage options with its five-foot cargo bed. The cabinet has a number of stains to attach to the smartphone and a good room hidden under the back seat. The seats can be placed in many ways and securely locked in an area where the track turns stealthily.
The Jeep offers two powertrains via Gladiator. The standard of this Jeep model engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that produces 285 horsepower. A 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine is available, with a power of 260 hp and a torque of 442 lb-ft. The Gladiator’s base V6 can be fitted with a six-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission. The automatic transmission is the only one available with a diesel engine. We expect the 2022 Jeep Gladiator to have two identical powertrains.
