The 2022 Jeep Compass Limited has some significant upgrades over the old 2021 model. Being a mid-spec trim configuration package, it comes packed with technology and features. The updated exterior design language also features quite a few gloss black elements, making it stand out from the rest of the trim options.
The interior of this compact crossover has also been thoughtfully updated with beautiful design and premium materials, making it richer and more refined compared to the pre-facelift Compass. In addition to the design, the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system is now standard, and its bright exterior features an updated compass with a modern and sleek design. The signature 7-slot grille, bumper, mesh inserts on the air baffle, and silver accents make it look much more focused from the front. Also updated are the LED headlights with LED DRLs. Width and ground clearance are still among the highest in the segment, matching the design language of more expensive offerings in the Jeep lineup. We also admire the 19-inch diamond-cut wheels, clean lines, and gloss black wheels. There are no significant changes at the rear besides updated LED tail lights, silver accents, and dual exhaust.

The most significant changes to the 2022 Jeep Compass Limited have come inside, as it has been completely redesigned from the ground up. The combination of beige and black interior colors, the two-step dashboard, and subtle chrome accents make the cabin look more elegant and premium than anything you can get from the same compact SUV segment. Contrast stitching is also used on the dashboard and door cards. Piano black accents on the center console, a large floating infotainment screen, and a neatly integrated digital instrument cluster add to the cabin’s elegance.
Compared to the pre-facelift model, there are no major changes in headroom, legroom, or shoulder room for the front and rear seats in this facelifted Compass.
The first thing you’ll notice when you get into the driver’s seat is the new 10.25-inch digital display. It provides all the information you need, and the display is bright and vivid. It is also taken from the Grand Cherokee and has a similar interface and features. The 10.1″ Uconnect 5 infotainment system sits neatly on the dash and is a significant upgrade over the 2021 model’s Uconnect 4. All of the functionality of this infotainment system is neatly arranged, and the touch sensitivity and display quality are top-notch. Level features such as Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM radio, navigation, Bluetooth, and voice recognition are standard. Alpine’s 9-speaker audio system delivers an impressive listening experience with vibrant bass and crisp highs.
The 2022 Jeep Compass Limited is powered by a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower and 172 lb.-ft torque. It has a standard front-wheel drive and six-speed automatic transmission. If you need an all-wheel drive, 4×4 drive and a nine-speed automatic transmission are optional. However, the Compass is available in two 4×4 variants depending on the trim: Jeep Active Drive Low and Jeep Active Drive.
Jeep Active Drive trim is a fully automatic 4×4 transmission that transitions seamlessly from front to rear to all-wheel drive at any speed. It can even send 100% of the engine’s torque to the rear wheels if needed. Meanwhile, Jeep Active Drive Low is standard on the Compass Trailhawk. It offers better off-road grip and traction with a low gear range and a 20:1 slip ratio.
